Gay J. Thompson, 77, of Randlett, Oklahoma

Gay J. Thompson, 77, of Randlett, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023.

The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery in Randlett, Oklahoma with Pastor Rick Beard, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett. Gay was born on September 19, 1945 in Florida to the late Elvin Bangs and Anita Rogers Bangs. She married the love of her life, Jerrell Thompson, on August 18, 1962 at First Methodist Church in Burkburnett. Gay loved her family BIG! She loved her Saturday dinners with her boys, and was a huge Elvis fan. Gay never met a stranger and adopted all the boys’ friends and insisted everyone call her Nanamaw (which was even on her license plate), everyone was always welcomed at her house. Gay was the Super Glue of our family and will be dearly missed.

Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cassie Adams.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerrell Thompson; her four boys, Todd Thompson and wife Carla, Jerry Thompson and wife Karri, Jeff Thompson and wife Anne, and Terry Thompson and wife Becky; her grandchildren, Alicia, Brad, Trent, Kaci, Kade, Chase, Challen, and Chance; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
