'MAY - A New Beginning' Student Art Contest

Cotton County Art Council Is offering an art contest for students ages 5 to 17 at their annual Arts & Crafts Show. There will be four divisions which will compete for prizes and recognition in painting or sculpting. The two beginner groups will compete in a coloring exercise while the upper groups will either paint or sculpt, meeting various given parameters. The contest will take place from 10 am until 2:00 pm on May 4th in the Expo Center west of Walters. All materials will be provided, and no outside materials will be permitted. All work must be the work of the individual with no outside help, including the use of electronic aides. Watching over and guiding the competition will be members of the Trail of Cheer volunteer group provided by Art Council members Robert Wright and Celia Hawk. There will be certificates of completion as well as cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placements in each of the 4 groups. Parents, bring your children and teens, and let them ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE OF USING THEIR CREATIVITY TO PRODUCE A PAINTING OR SCULPTURE TO WOW THE JUDGES!
