Floyd Jackson, attorney, was elected vice-president, and Bud Longueville, poultryhouse manager, was named treasurer.

Walters National Bank reorganized its officers and board of directors at its first meeing of stockholders Tuesday night. John R. Reynolds is chairman of the board, John Phil Reynolds is president and Ernest W. Smith is executive vicepresident. Elected as board members were: Ed Gunn, Fred W. Hooper, Worth Grigsby, V. C. Davis, Henry Pickett and Frank Parrish, all of Walters, Jack Copeland, of Grandfield, and W. O. Moon, Jr., of Chickasha. The bank has completed purchase of the Odd Fellows building and the Red West building at the corner of Broadway and Kansas, where they will construct a new bank building...Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jones, of Randlett, announce the birth of a son, Clifford Dale, January 9...A marriage license was issued to G. L. Shelton, 40, of Temple, and Lanelle Swinford, 30, of Randlett...City Barber Shop, Gene Sturdivant, barber, moved his shop to 104 N. Broadway.

The building known for years as the Walters Hospital was being razed this week by the owner, The original structure was built by Dr. Thompson and ownership has passed through several hands since the 20’s. The building has not been occupied for several years...A son, named Tyler Daniel, was born to Paul and Angel Bowles, of Walters, on Thursday, December 22. David and Connie Adams, of Devol, announce the arrival of a daughter, Nickie, on January 1. Maternal grandparents are Billy Ray and Billie Ann Arles, of Randlett. Mrs. Gunn is moving to Atoka to join her husband, Pete Gunn, who works for an implement dealer there...The senior class play, “The Eager Miss Beaver,” will be performed April 29. Characters are portrayed by Janice Langford, Glenda Womack, Paul Jeffrey, June Kindred, Gordon Dowlen, David Lowe, Barbara Lewallen, Glenda Reece, Buddy Durrett, Pat Bowles, and Billy Graham.
