Stewart Parrish and Thomas Huff, Jr., both of Walters, were notified Wednesday of their acceptance for enrollment in the school of medicine at the University of Oklahoma... Miss Allyne Edmonson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Edmonson, of North Mountain View community, became the bride of Arthur Sweet, of Mangum, Thursday, June 2, at Waurika. Mr. Sweet is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Sweet, of Mangum, and a brother of Miss Vera Sweet, who has taught in the Walters school system for the past several years. He came to Walters in September, 1934 as Spanish instructor and football coach. He was assistant coach at Duncan last year...Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Logan, of Fairview 200 community, are the proud parents of a boy which was born Saturday morning.

The Whites were married in June 1913, in Walters. They resided on a farm in the Emerson community, west of Walters, and for a number of years they operated the Emerson grocery, located on their farm. They moved into Walters three years ago...Miss Tess Witt became the bride of David McKinney in a ceremony Sunday, June 9, in the First Christian church. Mr. and Mrs. James B. Witt, Walters, are parents of the bride and the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Murry McKinney, of Temple...Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shaw, Walters, will be honored by their children at an open house reception to celebration their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, June 23, in the Cotton Electric civic room. Roy Shaw and the former Bonnie Bacon were married June 18, 1913, by the late Ike White, Justice of the Peace, at his home west of Walters. The couple resided at Emerson until moving to Walters in 1939. Mrs. Shaw moved to Emerson from Marlow with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Bacon, in 1908. Mr. Shaw also moved to Emerson with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Shaw, in 1906.
