Four Words

If you only had four words left to speak in your lifetime, what would they be? If you could only say those four and no other for the rest of your time what words would you choose?

Some folks would no doubt have something negative they would prefer. If you have been saved by grace and Jesus Christ is Lord what would you want to say? Love God Love Others? Jesus please forgive me? Jesus, I love You? Jesus set me free? All awesome choices!

Some of y’all are thinking this is a trick question. No, it isn’t a trick, but it is a good question. What four words would you want to be able to say if these words were to be your only words?

Something else to consider: when life on this earth is all said and done what will people read about your life on your tombstone? Oh sure, you may have some fancy statement etched out on your marker, but what do most tombstones actually say about one’s life? The answer is found in the dash. Yep! On the stone, there is the year you were born, then there’s a dash in between, and that is followed by the date you died. What did you do with the dash, meaning your life? Did you tell others about Jesus? Did you submit your life to His Lordship?

That tombstone thing reminds me, did you know that folks who live in or near Chattanooga can’t be buried in the Chattanooga Cemetery. It’s true. There are even laws about such things. Yes, you have to be dead first. Okay, don’t laugh, but you will probably repeat it to someone.

Let me get back to my point. If there were only four words for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Let me share some scripture: Let’s look at Philippians 2:8-11. He (Jesus) humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, to the glory of God the Father. (nasb)

Some day, every knee will bow (not just the saints but everybody) everyone who is in heaven, all those on earth, and everyone who rejected Jesus and went to the pits of hell will one day bow before Jesus and every tongue will testify that Jesus Christ is Lord.

There will be no more playing games. There will no longer be anyone that rejects Christ’s Lordship. Sadly, not all will be in heaven, but all will know Jesus Christ is Lord.

So what words would I want to choose for the last four words ever spoken. It’s simple. “Jesus Christ is Lord.”

Some folks might want to talk about their Savior, but if He is not Lord then He is not Savior. They go together. Salvation is found only in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no plan b.

Jesus tells us all in John 14:6, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one come to the Father but through Me.

It is His trail I ride. It’s His will I strive. It’s His love I share! Jesus Christ is Lord!!! Do you know Him? Invite Him in to, let Him be Lord of your life. Salvation is found in no other!

Choose Jesus, choose life and let your light shine! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! Always thankful for the rain!
