Statewide election activity officially begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 3rd, when the candidate filing period opens, the Secretary of the Cotton County Election Board said today.
Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board.
Cotton County Election Board Secretary, Shellie Hart, said the following county offices are expected to be filled this year: Cotton County Sheriff Cotton County Commissioner District #2 Cotton County Clerk Cotton County Court Clerk Filing forms and information for county offices may be obtained by contacting the Cotton County lection Board at 580-875-3403 or cottoncounty@elections.ok.gov. The Cotton County Election Board is located in room 2 of the Cotton County Courthouse located at 301 N. Broadway St., Walters, OK. Normal office hours are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. During filing period, office hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Filing packets for all offices are also available for download on the State Election Board’s website at oklahoma.gov/elections.
The filing period closes at 5 p.m. Friday, April 5th.
