R. W. Caldwell, formerly connected with the Duncan Mattress company, has entered a partnership with O. H. Jenkins in the Jenks Mattress company, it was announced this week...A baby girl, named Martha, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Loy Dyke, September 4...Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Baggs, of near Cookietown, are the parents of a baby girl, Kay Frances, born August 25...A boy, named Richard Earl, was born September 6 to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Berendzen...Traveling one-fourth of the distance around the world on $18.50, the feat accomplished by John Paynter, Walters high school lad, entitles him to some sort of title. He traveled over 6,500 miles from Shawnee to California and back across the country to the Atlantic coast of South Carolina and back again home to Oklahoma. Along with his cousin he started July 1 from Shawnee with his satchel in one hand, $5 in his pocket, and a thumb in the air. His father sent him $10 when he got to California. A “traveling companion’s” ( A CCC boy who also traveled on a freight train ride) mother in Alton, Ill., insisted on loaning him $1, which he has already paid back, and $2.50 was contributed by a Carolina youth’s mother which got him back home with a nickel to spare.

Mr. Spicer has leased the service station, garage building and warehouse at 108 W. Missouri, to Copeland and Thorne.
