Maxyne Arrington, 102 Walters, OK

Graveside Services were held at the Walters Cemetery, Walters, OK on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters.

Maxyne (Colston) Arrington was born to W F “Pete” and Nora (Pickett) Colston on December 30, 1920 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Marlow, OK on February 19, 2023 at the age of 102 years, 1 month and 20 days.

Maxyne grew up in Walters, graduating from WHS in 1939. She married H W “Shine” Arrington on January22,1941inWaurika, OK, making their home in Walters. For many years she worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Lawton until her retirement in 1977.

Maxyne enjoyed working in her yard, playing bingo and taking bus trips to Branson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Shine, in 1990; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Arkie Colston, Forrest and Betty Colston; a sister, JoAnn Booher; 2 nephews, Craig Colston and Clifford Colston; and a bonus nephew, Jerry Putnam.

Survivors include a niece Susan (Colston) Putnam of Jones, OK and a nephew, Kim Jack Colston of Marlow, OK.
