Fern Yackeyonny, 88 Fletcher, OK

Lois Fern Yackeyonny was born to Birdie Ruth (Rupe) and Clair Ambrose Payette January 31, 1935 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on January 28, 2024 at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 28 days.

Fern grew up in Walters, Sterling, Randlett and Central High, OK. She married Leslie Colberg and to the union 8 children were born. She later married Pete Walls and to the union 5 children were born. On March 14, 2003 she married Billy Joe Yackeyonny in Lawton, OK, making their home at Walters. She loved crocheting, crafting and working in her garden. She also loved Bible study and playing the piano for her churches.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Yackeyonny; parents, Birdie and Clair Payette; 2 sons, James Scott Colberg and Duane Clair Colberg; a sister, Bessie Ruth Payette Sullivan; 3 brothers, Jessie Clair Payette, Richard Payette and David Pram Payette.

Survivors include 11 children and spouses, Katherine Colberg Kuntz and Michael of Sterling, OK, Marlin Sullivan and Carrie of Marlow, OK, Jamey Hamilton and Robert of Norman, OK, Kevin Sullivan of Duncan, OK, Karlene Colberg of Edmond, OK, Kim Barrington and Rick of Marlow, Kyle Richardson of Guthrie, OK, John Walls and Tiffany of Scotland, TX, Jane Stitt and Michael of Scotland, UK, Donnie Payette and Rae of Whitesboro, TX, Marsha Smith and Eddie of Petrolia, TX; a sister, Rebecca Payette of Walters, OK; a sisterin- law, Janice Payette of Fletcher, OK; a brother-inlaw, Bob Sullivan of Marlow, OK; 23 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
