The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Townsend, while the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter F. Adkins, all of Walters...Miss Mary Lou Oaks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Oaks, of Okmulgee, became the bride of Don Wylder Minnich Friday, August 21 in the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. X. L. Minnich, of Lawton, formerly of Walters.

Dennis Wayne Byford is the new Agriculture instructor for Temple Public Schools. His wife, Marsha, will be the speech director for high school...The Degree of Master Mason was conferred on Dr. Michael Oliver when the Masons met Monday, August 27...Recently formed Walters Key Club held its first meeting August 22 with President Brenda Taylor in charge. Members elected Clint Russell as vice president and secretary Gaye Hickman was appointed club treasurer. Don Mitchell, science teacher in high school, was asked to be faculty advisor. The Kiwanis Club is the sponsoring agency.

J. Gillispie of Temple...A boy was born Wednesday, November 20, to Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Henderson. He has been named Charles Robert...Mr. and Mrs. Tom T. Gray of Denver, Colo., spent last weekend with his cousin, Grover Gray, and Mrs. Gray. Grover and Tom had not seen each other since they were very small boys in Virginia. Tom has served in World War I and II and was recently discharged.
