Body

Dear Cotton County Citizens: My name is Terry Kelley and I am running for re-election for Court Clerk of Cotton County. I was born in Houston, Texas, but I have lived in Walters for over 44 years. I was married to Eddie Kelley who worked at Cotton Electric for 38-1/2 years until his sad passing in March 2003. I’m a member of the First Christian Church, Senior Citizens Center and was involved in night owls- Home Extension Club for over 20 years.

Early in my career I worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T in Lawton for almost 7 years. When the telephone company went through divestiture and laid off many of their employees in Lawton I later went to work for AAA Engineering, a contractor on Ft. Sill, as their Word Processing Manager.

An opportunity to work in Walters for a local attorney came up in 1989 and I worked there several years.

Then in February 1992 I was offered a job with the Court Clerk office and I have been honored to work there ever since. 21 years as a deputy clerk, 8 years as the First Deputy and 3 years & 4 months as your Court Clerk. I have worked for 3 different Court Clerks during my tenure.

I’ve always believed in the Court System and am proud of my office and its part in it. I work with the public, Judges, District Attorney, Attornies & many different Law Enforcment agencies on a daily/ weekly basis. I’ve always treated everyone with professionalism and cooperation and am devoted to doing the very best job possible, I have lots of experience and knowledge of the workings of this office. I have enjoyed being able to serve the citizens of Cotton County, and hope to continue doing so.

As the incumbent candidate for Court Clerk of Cotton County, I humbly ask for your vote and support on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Thank you, Terry Kelley
