Oather Randall returned to his home this week after being confined to the local hospital with severe head injuries received when he was kicked by a horse last Wednesday...Riverland’s record of no defeats in two years of ciphering among rural schools in the county was stretched another victory in a recent school and community match at Hulen. B. A. Clampitt is teacher at Riverland... Ray Elliott, 16 years old, of the Lincoln Valley community, suffered a broken arm Tuesday while playing basket ball.

The old familiar canvas tent, in use for so many years at the Walters Cemetery, was retired last week, and a lovely new portable metal covering to be used at burials, was placed in Service Saturday afternoon. The Porta Chapel was built by Marvin Moore, Walters Cemetery board member, with materials donated by local merchants...Sheriff Mike Fletcher announced Monday the hiring of a new deputy for the Randlett area. Richard Fryer, 33, of Randlett, started in the position Monday morning.
