Six members of the Walters Blue Devil football team who were selected on the all-Southern Five conference football team have also been named to the all-District 7-B team. The six seniors are: Bill Flanagan, Bill High, Dennis Trahan and Bruce Williams in the line, and James Townsend and Ronnie Powers in the backfield...Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Bash, of Edmond, announce the birth of their son, Gary Lindreth, born December 9, at Oklahoma City. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Alva Parks, of Walters. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Bash, of Edmond...New officers of Cache Valley Lodge No. 530 A.F. and A.M. to be installed Monday night are: Lloyd Manuel, worshipful master; Eddie Phillips, senior warden; Gilbert Kidd, junior warden; Clarence Fletcher, Jr., treasurer; and Paul Owens, secretary; Harold McCammon, senior deacon; Wesley Scherler, junior deacon; Ernest Wilkes, senior steward; Tommy Parrack, junior steward; Fred Steele, chaplain; and John Timberlake, tiler...Vernon Heisch, Vernon Broberg and Jack Witt were elected as deacons in the Walters First Baptist church Sunday morning. A marriage license was issued to Roger Dale Gales, 23, and Rita Gayle Foster, 17, both of Walters...Mr. and Mrs. Edward Durrett, of Strangber, Norway, announce the birth of a son, Brandon Edward, December 10. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Buford Durrett, of Temple Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Mourice Murphy, of Oklahoma City...Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Phillips will celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary with a reception on December 27 at the Cotton Electric Civil Room. The couple were married December 27, 1931, in the Walters Baptist church parsonage.

Carol Lynn Mooney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mooney, Tucson, Ariz., received painful, but not extremely serious, burns accidentally February 1. She was playing with a neighborhood playmate and her dress became ignited. She received burns on her legs, hip and back. Two places were burned to such an extent as to require skin grafts...Donnie Anderson, Temple, was selected as the winner in a closely contested FFA speaking event Friday, March 21, in Walters. He used as his subject, “The Soil, You and I.”
