Smith, who resigned November 1 as superintendent of Walters schools to accept a job with an Oklahoma City publishing house, returned here this week to buy half interest in the Cotton County Motor Company from P. C. Campbell, of Temple. He joins T. Kemp Spicer, who has managed the firm for several years...Miss Edith Louise Butler and James Stamper were married January 10, at Verden. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Butler, of Hastings, Nebr., and a granddaughter of Mrs. Hattie Butler, of this city. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cutty Stamper, of Walters... Lucille Bridges, 10-year-old Walters pupil, daughter of Mr. and mrs. W. D. Bridges of the Pecan Grove community, underwent an operation to restore the use of one of her legs in the Crippled Children’s hospital at Oklahoma City, Tuesday morning. Earlier operations had restored the use of one leg and partially restored the other.
