Announcement of the renting of the north room of the Masonic building to J. C. Cole, Chickasha hatchery man, for five years, was made here this week by Judge J. W. Brooks. The room is being remodeled and improved at this time...The Lions and Rotary clubs are re-instituting Boy Scouts troops in Walters. Scouting was organized here in 1926, and from one to three troops were active until 1936. Glenn Pottz was selected by the clubs as scout master for the troop which will be composed of boys who have had previous scouting training. Jack Parker was named by the Lions club as scout master for the troop they will sponsor. The Rotary club has not decided on a scout master for the troop they will sponsor... Miss Mildred Thomas, daughter of Mrs. Minnie Thomas, and Charley C. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, were married last Saturday afternoon at Lawton. They will live in the Elm Grove community three miles west and three miles north of Walters...A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Owen Dalrymple Septmeber 29.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Auten announce the birth of a son, Benny Lee, Saturday, Sept. 21, in a Wichita Falls hospital. Mr. Auten is the Big Pasture football coach...Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Norman, Walters, have chosen the name Cherrie Lurel for their daughter born Sept. 27. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Norman, Walters, and Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Price, Ryan...William E. Van Buskirk, 34, who resides on the extreme west side of Walters, received painful back injuries Saturday evening in a tractor-car smashup on SH 5, east of Hastings, which claimed the life of one participant and seriously injured another. Van Buskirk was driving a tractor in a westerly direction, one-half mile east of Hastings, when his vehicle was struck from the rear by an automobile. The tractor was knocked a distance of 156 feel, hurling Van Buskirk into the air at impact, coming down atop the automobile.

Delilah Gayle Calfy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Calfy, and William Barton Joiner, of Bethany, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Joiner, of Durant, exchanged nuptials Saturday, September 24 at the Church of the Nazarene in Walters...A son, Lelon Tyler, was born Monday, September 19, to Mr. and Mrs. David A. Daniel. Maternal grandmother is Mrs. Erwin Groschick, Jr., of Clinton. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Daniel, of Walters.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Froese Sunday, January 10 in a Waurika hospital. She has been named Vicki Dawn. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. B. I. King, Walters...A double observance of golden wedding anniversaries will be celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. George A. Evans and Mr. and Mrs. John Pierce January 15 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Evans.
