The city hall in Walters was condemned by the state fire marshal in information received yesterday. The fire marshal stated that the building was in a serious condition and that it had reached a stage of deterioration where it should not be used as a public building. The municipal building is a two-story structure with cement floors, brick walls and a composition roof, that is used for city offices, the Walters fire department, with the second floor being occupied by the fire chief and his family. Throughout the building are large crevices, at one place in particular a partition has left the outside wall and is separated by a two and one-half inch margin... Thelma Sargent, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hannaford Sargent of Walters, accidentally drowned in the Sultan Park swimming pool Monday morning while swimming with a number of girl friends...Fulton Wagner, former county treasurer, and for the past term deputy court clerk, was appointed court clerk Tuesday when the resignation of Tracy Daugherty was accepted...Miss Stella Carr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Carr, of the Lincoln Valley community, became the bride of Bob Allen Thursday evening at Lawton. Mr. Allen is the son of Mrs. Maude Allen, of Hobart, and is a transport pilot, employed by Joe Baldwin here... Marriage licenses were issued to R. H. Cowherd, 22, Temple, and Nova Boles, 33, Devol; Alva Parks, 25, Walters, and Violet Kelly 22, Ardmore; James Powell, 22, and Willie Brown, 22, both of Temple; and D. W. Sanderson, 45, Duncan, and Ruth Rhodes, 36, Walters.

Smith, 103 East Indiana, pioneer Cotton county residents, will be honored at an openhouse reception Sunday, July 15, in observance of their golden wedding anniversity. Charlie V. Smith and the former Miss Eula Carter were married July 20, 1912, in Temple...Mr. and Mrs. James C. Owens, Lawton announce the birth of a daughter, Lillie Ona, born Thursday, June 28. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John R. Owens, Walters, and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Perkins, of Temple.

Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Williams, of Randlett, will be honored July 11 with a reception in the civic room of the First National Bank in Burkburnett. Lewis Williams and Miss Bertha Williams were married July 10 in Walters... Wedding vows were exchanged Saturday, June 19, at the Trinity Baptist church in Oklahoma City, for Darla Kay Hunsaker and Edwin Keith Fitzsimons. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Fitzsimons, of Walters... Mr. and Mrs. William Brown announce the birth of their daughter, Mandi Danae, born June 30. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Warren Brown, and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown, all of Walters.

For the past five years he has been chief of an analysis group for Convair at Fort Worth. He is a veteran of World War II...
