Harvest 2024 Begins

Wheat harvest 2024 has now kicked off, and is in full swing here in Cotton County. Riyan Miller is just one of the many custom cutters in this area. Riyan is a third generation harvester and a fourth generation farmer. Randy Miller, Riyan’s father who owned/ operated the family business alongside Riyan, passed away in early June 2021. Joe Miller, Riyan’s grandfather ran Joe Miller Custom Harvesting for many decades. He and his doting wife Veta Miller made quite a name for themselves in the custom harvesting industry before handing the family business over to Randy, which Randy operated for the remainder of his life. Since his fathers passing, Riyan has steadily picked up the pieces over the years to keep the family business alive. Riyan now custom cuts in the summer, and farms on the side all while working at Goodyear full time. A walking example of resilience, and the determination to keep following your dreams, and working towards the bigger picture.
