Will Jesus Return Soon?

Are we living in the end times? Is the Antichrist alive today and will Jesus return soon?

The world does seem to be getting worse, and this should remind us that someday Christ will come again to bring an end to this present world. Jesus taught that certain events or signs point to His coming, and we certainly see many of these today.

Jesus warned, for instance, that before He comes again, you will hear of wars and rumors of wars…famines…and earthquakes among other things in various places…false prophets will rise up and deceive many.” Satan will thrash about in one last burst of evil hoping to capture as many souls as possible before his inevitable end.

Matthew 24: 6 & 7 and verse 11 says this: “(6) And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. (7) For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in drivers places. (11) And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”

So is Christ’s coming near? It may well be, although the Bible warns us not to make precise predictions. But we must be alert and ready for His coming by being certain of our commitment to Christ, and approaching every day as if it were our last. We should be certain of our salvation in Him.

The Apostle Paul spoke of this hope in Titus 2: 11 – 15 which says: “(11) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, (12) teaching us that, denying ungodliness and wordly lust, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; (13) Looking for that blessed, hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; (14) Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people zealous of good works. (15) These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.”

This marvelous promise, this wonderful hope, belongs to everyone who has made Jesus Christ Lord and Savior.

Christians should live sanctified lives because the grace of God that saves also instructs us to live in a new way. A person cannot claim to be a recipient of God’s saving grace if he is not also a trainee in the lifestyle made possible by grace.

We do not know the day or hour in which Jesus will return, but we need to be prepared. It could be sooner than later.
