Jason Leigh Red Elk was born to Gene Elliott and Marilyn Jo (Thompson) Red Elk on June 3, 1970 in Lawton, OK and departed this life in Lawton on March 14, 2024 at the age of 53 years, 8 months and 11 days. Jason grew up in Walters, OK, graduating from WHS in 1989. He then joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country honorably in Desert Storm. Following his service, he returned home but soon began traveling for a time. He returned to Walters and went to work for Cotton

Electric in September of 2010 in the meter shop.

Jason married Jodi Dawn Bartling on March 16, 2019 in Walters. He enjoyed golfing, visiting with friends and loved OU sports. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Red Elk and his grandma, Marjean Colbert. He was joined in death by his father, Gene Red Elk who passed two days later.

Survivors include his wife, Jodi, of the home; 3 brothers, Lance Red Elk of Walters, Adam Red Elk of Medicine Park, OK and Blake Red Elk and Tyler of Dallas, TX; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lola and Jerry Bartling; many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
