Graveside Service at the Walters Cemetery, Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Brantley Tillery officiating. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. on Friday, March 15th at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

Beverly Ann (Chapman) Fowler was born to Dale Hansen and Beulah Adeline (Huffman) Chapman on November 30, 1937 in Lyons, Kansas and departed this life in Amarillo, Texas on March 9, 2024 at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 8 days.

Beverly grew up in small towns in Western Kansas until moving to Walters, Oklahoma and graduating from WHS in 1955. She married Horace “Bud” Fowler, Jr. on December 27, 1955 and to this union, 3 children were born. She worked in the school library for a time and at Walters National Bank before becoming a fulltime homemaker. Later, she delivered Meals on Wheels and worked local elections.

Beverly was a member of the United Methodist Home Extension Group, winning many ribbons and awards at the Cotton County Fair for sewing and canning. She was also part of the Quilting club, making numerous quilts and wall hangings which are still greatly cherished and for which she was very proud of. She and Bud also belonged to 3 square dancing clubs, making new friends and memories around the area. Beverly loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed attending her kids and grandkids athletic events and activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace “Bud” Fowler, Jr.; her parents, Dale and Beulah Chapman; and a sister, Doris Drager.

Survivors include 3 children, Linda Fowler of King George, VA, Larry Fowler and Julie of Gypsum, CO, and Doug Fowler and Nancy of Amarillo, TX; 4 grandchildren, Jason Wilkes and Karen of Blacksburg, VA, Tracey Finall and Ricky Jr. of Applegate, MI, Allison Fowler and Connor of Brooklyn, NY, and Alex Fowler of South Bend, IN; 3 great-grandchildren, Ricky Finall, III, Ryder Finall and Cora Wilkes; other relatives and many friends.
