OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA., July 27, 2020 – The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) has a strong presence at the Oklahoma State Capitol every legisla-tive session and works closely with legislators to advance and protect the Oklahoma beef cattle industry. Annually, OCA recognizes legislators that go above and beyond working with OCA to accomplish our mission. This year, OCA is honored to recognize Representative Toni Hasenbeck with an OCA Legislative Appreciation Award.

“For the past two legislative sessions, OCA prioritized legislation that would make labeling of alternative meat products more transparent and accurate for consumers,” said Michael Kelsey, OCA Executive Vice President. “Representative Hasenbeck helped lead that legislative charge in the House during both legislative sessions.”

Representative Toni Hasenbeck from the 65th House district in Southwest Oklahoma grew up in agriculture. She and her husband Hank are still deeply involved in the beef industry in Elgin, Okla. Before being elected to the House in 2018, Representative Hasenbeck was an elementary teacher in the Elgin school district.

“The OCA is thrilled to recognize Representative Hasenbeck and thank her for her leadership for two consecutive legislative sessions to shepherd two different bills through the Legislature that address labeling of alternative meat products,” said Kelsey.
