The Walters Public Educational Foundation recently announced the selection of nine scholarship recipients from Walters High School.
Kahler Coleman was awarded the J.E. Mason Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $8,000. The J.E. Mason Memorial Scholarship is awarded at the rate of $1,000 per semester for four years.
WPEF scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each were awarded to Nathan Hart, Phelim Jiang, Jenna Johnson, Mina Murphy, Gabrielle Scott and Ashton Spence.
The Cecelia and Paul Mershon Scholarship of $1,000 was awarded to Bethany Spaulding.
The A.B. and Helen Thurman Scholarship of $1,000 was awarded to Breighannon Hanks.
The Walters Public Education Foundation is a non-profit 501©3 organization that provides educational scholarships for WHS graduates as well as annual classroom grants to Walters educators. Since 1984, $684,321 in scholarships and grants have been awarded.
