The Walters Public Works Authority met in regular session at 5:00 p.m. on March 12, 2024 in the City Hall in Walters. Those present were, Chairman Clint Thurman, Vice-Chairman Jonathan Morgan, Trustees Aaron Russell, Byrum W. Eidson and Jim Keesee, City Clerk Sheri Davis, Interim City Manager Karla Eschiti and Attorney Hyman Copeland.
Visitors present were: Gerald Hayes, Karen Price, Librarian Desirre Drattlo and Stephanie Smallwood.
Item #3— Wes Eidson made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda.
Jonathan Morgan seconded the motion. The vote was: yes: Morgan, Keesee, Russell, Eidson, Thurman Nays: None (a) Approval of February 6, 2024 regular WPWA meeting minutes.
(b) Approval of purchase orders and signing of checks for all WPWA funds presented at the 3-12-2024 WPWA meeting and ratification of routine checks subsequent to the 2-62024 regular WPWA meeting.
Trustees had a check register of checks being signed, and a cash report showing how much money was still on the books after checks being signed.
Karla stated finances are a little better than last month. Interim CM Karla Eschiti told the trustees we have been flushing fire hydrants and we will be switching to our water so Waurika can do some repairs.
Wes Eidson asked about the water plant. Karla stated we will be starting phase 2 soon.
Under new business Karla informed the Trustees A&J’s meat market had their grand opening, the pancake supper was tonight, the Easter Egg hunt is March 30th and we received our FEMA funds from the June 2023 storm. We are still waiting on the 25% from the state.
Purchase orders were approved and the following checks signed.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
