Official approval from REA inWashington, for the Cotton Electric Co-operative to rent an office in Walters was received this week. The one year lease on office space on East Colorado street was formerly occupied by the Cotton County Wholesale Grocery. Duncan was making a serious bid for the project headquarters, but Walters was the winner in that contest. With headquarters set up here, both engineers and construction men will work out of Walters, bringing a new payroll to the city for the length of time needed to put up 234 miles of line...Workers in the Walters NYA shop will repair furniture of schools, city and county offices for only cost of materials, Ed Otis, shop supervisor, announced this week. Otis at present has a crew of 13 boys working at the shop. Each boy works 40 hours per week on a pay basis of 25 cents per hour. Boys are being instructed in woodwork, he said.

A foundation, undoubtedly that of the old red brick school house, was uncovered in excavation work for the new gym and for the gym foundation. A basement of the old building was found with only about two feet of dirt on top of rubble of bricks, concrete and general disorder. This means more excavation work than originally planned for...Lewis K. Knight has accepted a position as vocational agriculture instructor in the Ralls, Texas, school system. Knight attended Temple schools, OSU, and taught in the Temple system for 13 years.
