Gwendolyn Dee is the name of the new daughter in the Ted Fowler home, southeast of Randlett...A five-pound girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Ford, of Randlett, Tuesday...A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Watt Penn, of Randlett, Wednesday...Mr. and Mrs. Jack Williams, of Randlett, are the parents of a daughter, who arrived Wednesday...Mr. and Mrs. Blark B. Harris, of Ahpeatone, announce the arrival of a baby boy, January 15, at the Grandfield hospital. He was named Carl Marion... Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Whitney, of Faxon, announce the arrival of a new baby boy at their home. Mr. Whitney formerly taught in the Ahpeatone school. Mrs. Whitney is the former Miss Bessie Anderson...A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Allen on January 14...Harvey Landis, Jr., of the U. S. navy, arrived in Walters Monday for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Landis. When Harvey returns to San Diego, Calif., in February, he will join a number of other Walters boys on the U. S. S. Lexington.

The residence of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Parrack on East Ohio street in Walters was severely damaged by fire Saturday night. The family was at the school gymnasium attending a basketball game when the fire alarm sounded. Parrack is a member of the volunteer fire department and responded to the warning. The cause os the blaze has not been definitely determined, but could have started from an open fireplace in the den... Linda Kerr was installed worthy advisor of the Walters assembly of Rainbow for Girls Saturday afternoon... Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Rogers, Oklahoma City, have chosen the name Marilyn Jean for their daughter born Friday, January 1. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Loyd B. Rogers and Mr. and Mrs. Finis Reece, all of Walters.

Dr. Campbell Long was honored Monday night at the regular meeting of the Temple Lions Club with the unexpected presentation of a 30-year pin, representing his years as a member...Tiny Spurlock, manager of the Farmers Elevator in Temple the past four years, has announced his resignation effective Friday. He has accepted a position with the Agriculture Stablization and Conservation Service in Jefferson county. He will be working for the organization he worked for before coming to work for the Farmers Elevator seven years ago...The county treasurer’s office has received a check for $32,713.97 from the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company for back taxes for the years 1974 through 1981, except 1978, which were paid..
