His Blood

Just in case you don’t read to the end, pray for rain!

A while back, I was operating one of those wood cutting tools again. You know, like I used to operate back when I was building furniture all the time. I guess I am a little out of practice. I was within a small measurement of doing great harm to my fingers. Did I mention that the sawblade had sharp carbide teeth…72 of ‘em all going this way and that! As it turned out, I only needed a few paper towels and a trip to the bathroom to clean it and install some band-aids in the proper places. I’ll tell you, it looked a great deal better with the flow of blood stopped. And then, all I had to do was clean up a path of blood that led to the bathroom. I don’t share this to try to be gross. I share it to convey to you that my blood cleans very little to nothing. In fact, it leaves a stain.

But let me tell you about Jesus who came and shed His blood on the cross to not only cover but completely wipe out my sin and yours. But we fail to truly survey the effect of the cross.

1 Peter 1:18-19 says, “…you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.” (nasb)

Jesus shed his blood at the cross for your sins and mine. If we will but turn to Him, He will save us from our sin. The red blood of Jesus makes us white as snow. In the 1800’s, Pastor Robert Lowry wrote songs in addition to his pastoring duties. In 1876, he wrote the following:

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus

What can make me whole again? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus

Oh, precious is the flow That makes me white as snow

No other fount I know Nothing but the Blood of Jesus.

I’ll tell y’all what! That’s good stuff even as we sing it still today!

Romans 5:8-9, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.” (nasb)

Because of sin, we all fall short of the glory of God. Jesus’ blood washes away sin. He gave His life so that we may live because He lives. How about you, do you want to live? Then ask Jesus to be your Boss. If you let Him, He will keep you on the right trail!

Jesus said in John 14:6, John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (nasb) Follow Jesus!

Choose Jesus, choose life and let your light shine! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! And hey, y’all let us all be of one accord and pray for some rain on this parched land! Amen!
