Just in case y’all haven’t noticed, we have a presidential election coming up in a few months here in the U.S. Where do we stand as Christians? Simple answer: We had better ought to stand with God! Israel fell more than once as a result of abandoning their knowledge and love of the God of the universe.

Our military goes to keep us and our allies safe and free. But why aren’t we, as believers, doing our job at home, next door, across this nation, and around the world?

I believe we are entertaining ourselves into oblivion and have relinquished the education of biblical values to a couple hours a week in church while we spend literally hundreds of hours in an anti-Christian brainwashing society. We are far too comfortable allowing godless government leadership and an anti-Christian media to strip away the foundations that hold us together.

Folks, I’m not gonna white-wash this, I am proud to be an American, but God comes first! I like to think I am a Freedom seekin, Bible believin, Gun totin, Flag wavin American. I love this country. I am proud to be an American!

My pride does not stem from any one person, or not even from the military we honor and support, and certainly not from any political figure. My pride, in being an American, stems from our beginnin’s as to where we came from and who we are as a country.

I keep learnin’ more about how this country came into existence, and it is becoming obvious that God has us here for a reason. He has a plan. I believe we are to be that light on the hill, but our light as a nation seems to be quickly fading.

The fact that our nation was built, structured from the ground up, on Judeo Christian principles, is something that hasn’t really been taught outside the church for maybe a hundred years.

You have to go back to the 1800’s when the old Christian based McGuffey Readers were the primary source for education to find teaching that combines Judeo Christian values with public education.

How did our Constitution come about? I am sure many of you know the story of how a group of dedicated men met together for months debating the details of our Constitution that would govern our nation. What you may not know is that, along the way, the men who were trying to accomplish this great feat got into a frustrated and heated battle. They weren’t getting’ anywhere until 81-year-old Ben Franklin, with a powerful speech, called them to adjourn so they could go pray and fast. When they returned, they began each of their sessions with prayer. The stirring speech of Benjamin Franklin marked a turning point in the writing of the Constitution, complete with a Bill of Rights. Such a useful time of adjournment likely wouldn’t be allowed today.

But as recently as 1983, by joint resolution, the 97th United States Congress authorized President Reagan to declare 1983 as the “Year of the Bible?” That resolution passed with an overwhelming majority. A group of sixteen congressmen tried to do it again in 2009 and they were refused.

We live in a time here in the United States where the Holy Bible has become second rate.

Christ warned of these things. 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” NIV We need to pray and fast for revival in this land. We need to pray for our country, its leaders, and its people! It’s time to take a stand and it begins on our knees in prayer!

Choose Jesus, choose life! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! And y’all please KEEP PRAYIN’ for RAIN! It keeps the drought away! Amen.
