One of my favorites from the past: I remember a little cartoon capsule that I saw years ago. The animation showed two bugs talking while another flew into a bug light zapper. And one bug said to the other as they watched their friend get zapped, “I told him, ‘Jesus is the Light. You must go to the light.’ And so he did!”

My thinkin’ is this: There is one Jesus and one real gospel. Don’t accept anything but the “real” good news or you’ll likely get fried like a bug in a bug zapper!

Eph 5:8, for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light.

So just how is a child of Light, follower of Jesus, supposed to walk? Well, like he can see where he’s going. Ps 119:105, Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

And in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-5) A. Jesus = Light = Word = with God = is God = is Spirit = Way = Truth = Life = Father in Heaven = Yes Way! It’s not so complicated. But many have trouble understanding it.

Or we could see it like it is written in John 3:16, ”For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life”.

The other choice: B. Satan = darkness = evil = hell = eternal torment = apart from God =no way!

Which equation do you choose? There are only two paths. Please choose life! Choosing not to choose is choosing the wrong choice!

How dark is a total absence of light? You ever been in a deep dark cave? Have you ever literally not been able to see even your hand in front of you? That’s how it is without Christ.

Now a feller can go to church and he can hear the Word preached. He can even read on it for a spell, but if he doesn’t choose Christ, he might as well be reading a Louis L’Amour western.

Now, I like Louis L’Amour’s work, and as far as I know, I’ve read all of his books. But while his books are a good read, and they always had a good ending, they don’t change anything.

Knowing who Jesus is don’t change much. But having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ changes the final answer. ‘Bout as different as night and day! …or darkness and Light!

If you are still not convinced, then there are some other ways we can make the comparison. If you turn on a light switch and the light doesn’t come on we either suspect that the bulb has burned out or the plug has come away from the power source (unplugged or disconnected).

Our Power Source is Jesus, and He will never come unplugged! He did once at the cross so He could make full payment for the sins of the world, but once was enough. He lives!

As His followers, we need to have what I’d call a Tom Bodett attitude towards others, “We’ll leave the Light on for you!” Let others see Christ in you!

God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7 (verses are all nasb) Choose Jesus, choose life! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! And y’all KEEP PRAYIN’ for RAIN! Amen.
