It’s His Church

As I write this, we are about to experience another day over 105º with more to come. Lord, we sure could use a little cooler temps and some rain. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A little boy in Sunday School had been taught by the same teacher for about three years. She had a way of tellin’ stories and she always ended by saying,”and the moral of the story is . . .”

Well, the boy got older and went into a new Sunday school class with a new teacher. After a few weeks and before the worship time, the minister asked the boy how he was likin’ his new Sunday school teacher. Little Johnny informed the preacher, "Well, I reckon she’s a purty good teacher, but her stories don’t have any morals.” Well, the moral of this story today is this, “Jesus is Head of the Church!”

I’m sure this is news to many, especially to folks who aren’t in a Bible believin’ church! You thought it was the pastor, the chairman of the deacons, or the dear lady in charge of the kitchen.

Jesus is Mighty, Jesus is Powerful. Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is King!!!

It’s sad, but I’ve heard stories and even seen some things myself that take place in churches which might make a person wonder! If Jesus is Lord of the church, then it isn’t one of His local churches.

The Sunday before Easter, if you were in church, you know doubt were reminded how Jesus came riding through town mounted on a young donkey that had never been ridden. (Matt 21:5) It’s called Palm Sunday. I have even mentioned it here. They placed palm leaves before Him singing Hosanna and worshipping the King!

But many fail to see the King in what took place that week. Jesus died on the cross. How could or why would a king do that?

Jesus went to the cross to pay for your sins and mine. But I tell you there are folks out there that think death on the cross lessens who our Lord is. They think that if He is King then why would He allow Himself to give His life? Why did He have to die like that?

There are some who would say if Jesus is King then, if He is to be my Lord, my Boss, then why didn’t He just come overthrow the government and assert His ultimate authority over a lost and confused world?

Jesus said in Matthew 10:34,37-39, “Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. …”He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.”

And Jesus said in John 12:46-47, “I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world” Jesus came to save those who are lost. I was one. He came to give all who seek Him, the Way, as on our own, we have no way.

Trust in Jesus! It’s about a relationship with Him! But understand, we are to put King Jesus first over all other things, no matter how noble they might be!

Jesus is indeed King! He is of greatest Nobility! He is the Son of the Living God!

Do you know Him? Do you love and follow Him? If not, then seek Him today! Allow Him to come in and reign! Ride for His brand! Read His Book!

Choose Jesus, choose life! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST!

And y’all KEEP PRAYIN’ for RAIN! Amen.
