April Pratt The Dahlia Garden Club had a winter break but when February rolled around they provided Valentine plates for 40 shut-ins in our community. Plates were filled with lots of goodies.

At the February meeting lots of plans were made for spring events.

Program for the March meeting was provided by April Pratt, Past Oklahoma Garden Club President and Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judge. She presented ideas for flower designs for a flower show. Her designs were a standard size line design and a miniature 5 inches tall and no more than 5 inches wide.

Other activities planned are hosting the Southwest District Garden Club Convention in Walters on Wednesday April 17. Craig Williams, Williams Landscape, Lawton will provide the program and Calli Burrito will cater the meal. The District includes clubs from Grandfield and Ft. Cobb. Others attending will be Oklahoma Garden Club, Inc. officers and members of other Districts. Expecting 30 or more in attendance.

On April 13, Kim Davis, member, and Youth Chairman will proceed with activity in the Hi Tunnell (Hoop House). A Community Educational Garden is being prepared and the Youth Education Program will begin with planting seeds for the ingredients of Salsa.

This summer food preservation workshops will be offered for youth and Seniors.
