The new Union Valley auditorium and gymnasium, constructed at a cost of $10,000, was dedicated last Monday evening. It will be used for all community affairs, including church services...Bill Fowler, residing east of Walters, was bitten by a black widow spider last week, and was seriously ill for a few days. He was bitten on Monday, but waited until Wednesday before he received treatment, and by that time the knee was swollen to enormous proportions...Work is continuing this week on the construction of a modern two-story brickveneer hospital, replacing the former wooden structure, according to Dr. J. M. Thompson, owner and builder. It will accommodate 30 patients and will be 70 feet by 40 feet in dimentions. The east wing of the old building will be retained and re-modeled and used for a residence...Mr. and Mrs. Bill Petty are the parents of a daughter, born Wednesday, Aug. 4... Mr. and Mrs. Travis Rutledge are the parents of a son, born Monday, Aug. 2.

Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Darnell, of Walters, are parents of twin sons, David Ray and Darrell Lee, burn July 29... Marriage vows were exchanged by Miss Pat Graham and Larry Yandell Saturday, July 28, at Wichita Falls. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Graham, of Purcell, and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. George Yandell, of Walters, and the late Mr. Yandell...The T. L. Wileman family of Randlett, have moved back into their home after remodeling it following the storm damage, and Mr. and Mrs. Fay Postlewait finished their new home and moved into it last week...Jerri Lynn Toyebo, 15-year-old daughter of Mrs. George Kishketon, of Walters, took first place in the ladies’ buckskin costume and cloth dress contest at the Tulsa Indian pow-wow last weekend. Sixty persons entered the contest. George Kishketon was also honored by being named head singer for the celebration.

A marriage license was issued to Cairl W. Matejek, 34, and Gareen Allison Blair, 20, both of Temple... Mr. and Mrs. Rector Johnson celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary July 11 with a reception at their home in Broken Bow, Okla. The former Virginia Calhoun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Calhoun, of Walters, and Rector Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Johnson, of Geronimo, were married on July 17, 1932 in Walters.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Thurman, Amarillo, on November 1. He has been named David Craig. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cameron. Paternal grandmother is Mrs. Susie Thurman, all of Temple...Spc4 and Mrs. William Meyer are the parents of a baby girl born Nov. 6 at a Lawton hospital. She has been named Gerri Susanne. Mrs. Meyer is the former Miss Loretta Norman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Norman, Temple. The paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Carl Meyer, Walters.
