Researchers found that young children (two to five years old) living in areas with more green spaces had fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression. The results suggest that kids’ access to green space may influence certain mental health risks.

Cameron University will honor students who either completed requirements for master’s degrees in December 2023 or who will complete requirements in May 2024, July 2024 or December 2024 at its 17th Hooding Ceremony on Friday, May 3, at 3 p.m. The ceremony will take place in Aggie Gym. Dr. Mary Dzindolet, professor in the Department of Psychology, will address the master’s candidates.

Governor Stitt has called a special election to fill a vacancy in the office of Cotton County Commissioner, District 1, the Cotton County Election Board Secretary said today. The Special Primary Election will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024. The Special General Election will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The filing period begins Monday, May 6, 2024 at 8 a.m. and ends Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 5 p.m. Those interested in becoming a candidate for the office may obtain an official filing packet at the Cotton County Election Board or download a packet from the State Election Board website at oklahoma.gov/elections. The Cotton County Election Board is located at 301 N. Broadway, Room 2.
