Miss Eula Mae Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Moore, of Smithfield, Texas, and Mox G. Mesemer were married Thursday, August 11, in the home of Rev. A. B. Waldrep. Mr. Besemer, who is the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Besemer, is a farmer of near Walters. Miss Moore was graduated from the Ahpeatone school in 1938, and was valedictorian of her class...Marriage licenses were issued to: Thomas A. Moss, 28, Carnegie, and Beatrice Brewster, 25, Temple; and G. C. Reece, 59, Walters, and Alice Ledford, 52, Comanche...George L. Williams, of Geonimo, arrived here Monday to assume management of the Walters gin, until recently known as the Sawyer gin. The gin was sold several weeks ago by J. Lon Sawyer to the Chickasha Cotton Oil company...Final results of three years spent in constructing the winding scenic drive to the summit of Mt. Scott, king of the Wichita mountain range, will be officially opened to trafic Sunday.

A reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Trisler on their 50th wedding anniversary was held Sunday, August 11, in their home at Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Keehn, of Taylor, Mich., have chosen the name Darrell Jay for their son born July 22. Mrs. Keehn is the former Miss Emma Phillips, Walters. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Phillips, of Walters...Miss Venita Joy Powers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K. A. Powers, and Elvin L. Dudley, son of Mrs. Mae Lagomarsino, were united in marriage Thursday, August 8, in the First Baptist church.

Paternal grandmother is Mrs. Cleeta Carney, of Duncan. Paternal great-grandparents are Cleetis and Violet Howell, of Walters...Big Pasture school has a new Vo-Ag building. It is a 5000 square foot metal building composed of a large shop area, classroom, library resourc room, tool room, office and a kitchen. The cost of the building was $95,000.
