The formal opening of the new building of Neel’s Funeral Home at 212 E. Colorado street will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The building is of Spanish design, stucco, with a 70 foot front, chapel capacity for 100 persons, casket display room, plus ambulance service. A. C. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dahl, of Temple, announce the birth of a new daughter, Jodie Ann, born June 1 at Duncan. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Courtney, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dahl, of Edcouch, Texas...Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weir will celebrate their Fiftieth Wedding anniversary July 3 with a reception in the Cotton Electric Civic Room. The couple were married July 3, 1932, in Portales, N. Mex. They moved to Cotton county in 1947 and settled on a farm northwest of Walters...Joe and Jacquelyn Vardell announce the birth of a daughter, Alaina Suzanne, on June 17, at Lawton. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wickham, of Temple. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John E. Vardell, of Randlett.

A son, Kelly Vaughn, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn L. (Jack) Jackson, Tuesday, September 30, in Duncan. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Brashears, Temple...Pvt. John L. Brown, whose wife, Patsy, lives in Temple, recently completed eight weeks of basic combat training at Fort Carson, Colo. Brown is a 1954 graduate of Temple high school. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie F. Brown, live on Route 1, Lawton...An open door of her car, which served as a prop against the vehicle overturning on her, saved Mary Tipton, 16 year old Temple girl, from possible serious injuries Sunday afternoon in a smashup one-half mile west of Temple. She lost control on a curve on Highway 5.
