As we see all the things happening in this land right now, it makes one stop and think. Moral failure has become the norm. It’s even being made legal.

What is it going to take for the good ol’ USA to regain its moral compass and turn back to God?

I can tell you that we are goin’ to have to be seeking Him and His ways. Believers in Christ must truly follow Him. And I must start with me. Yep, this is a little sermon to myself, and maybe it can help you as well.

I reckon the trouble is that we have one foot in the world and one foot tryin’ to follow Christ.

They ain’t goin’ the same way and it is causing folks who profess to be Christians to do the SPLITS! Ouch!

Psalm 24:3-6 is quite clear what we have to do. 3 Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?

4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.

5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior.

6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. (nasb) If I want to be of the generation that seeks the face of God; the Word says I must have clean hands. What do your hands do? Your hands go a lot of places. They handle a lot of stuff.

The hands that God asks you to put together in prayer to him today are the same hands that will be with you later when you are doing things of this world.

Do your hands shove things in your mouth that don’t need to be there? Do your hands place things in front of your eyes that you don’t need to see? Or maybe do your hands cause harm to another? In order to seek His presence, it is required that our hands are clean. Are you washed in the blood of Christ?

The text also shows us that a person in the generation that seeks the face of God will have a pure heart. Things like bitterness and anger tend to make the heart heavy and may even cause it to tear. Are you willing to forgive those who have wronged you? There is no room for God’s love and bitterness and hatred in the same heart.

If we are seeking God then we can’t have any idols. In other words, we can’t allow anyone or anything to come ahead of God. That means your pickup, bass boat or your horse or your hobby may have to go. It might be that your idol is something else that consumes you time. This could be hard to comprehend, but some folks get so wrapped up in their work that it takes priority over God. Maybe your idol is something that is ruining your marriage. Keep God the main thing!

A person seeking God will be truthful. This includes honesty, positivity, and no gossip.

It means that when you sing praises to God, you don’t go outside and curse God or ask Him to damn that which He created. Are you honest with your friends, are you honest with your spouse, are you honest with yourself, and are you honest with God? God wants the generation that seeks Him to demonstrate truth. God I pray that we have clean hands. I pray that we have pure hearts. I pray, Lord, that we not have idols. Father, help us to be truthful, and most of all Lord, help us to represent you that others would receive you. In Jesus name…amen Oh, Lord, how people need the Lord. Give us clean hands! In the name of Jesus, AMEN Choose Jesus, choose life! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST!

And y’all please KEEP PRAYIN’ for RAIN! Amen.
