His Way

I’ve shared about God’s way before, and I’ll likely do it again. Have y’all ever thought much about the way God goes about getting’ things done? At the first look, a lot of things God does just don’t seem to make much sense to us! I reckon that’s why He is God and we aren’t. I have also noticed that God uses some folks I’d never pick. I guess God knows what He’s doing. I mean, I sure wouldn’t have ever picked out hard-headed Jewish fishermen, a tax collector, and other common folks to be His 12 Apostles. I would have never used John the Baptist to lead the way for the Son of God. And I would’ve had other plans for Saul, who became Paul, as he walked along that Damascus Road. After all, he was working against God. But God has a plan!

God chose folks like Joseph and Mary. And He still chooses common folk like you and me to follow Him. And yes, He chose Paul to write most of what we know as the New Testament! Have you ever just wanted to ask God the question, “God, are You sure, I mean are You really sure You want to use me to help accomplish Your plan?”

“YES, WES, I AM SURE.” Some of us try to use God for our own purpose. That’s really not a good idea. Oprah Winfrey once had an episode about having affairs with married men. Oprah had brought together several people who were currently having an affair to get their comments. One lady responded very positively, saying that her affair with a married man had been a longstanding affair, and she was very happy in it.

Then someone was concerned that might just be morally wrong. Well, that woman took offense. “Wait a minute,” she said. “I’m a Christian, but I want everyone to know that I don’t let my personal life & my religion interfere with one another.” And then she went on to say, “I believe in a God who wants me to be happy. And if this married man makes me happy, then I know God approves of the relationship.”

I wonder where she found that in her Bible. Cause it ain’t in mine. It must be one of those new versions that takes a bunch of that sin stuff out and replaces it with a bunch of feel good stuff. God won’t ever go against His Word. He can’t go against Himself and he won’t! But there is nothing new in that!

According to the Bible, people were “livin in sin” back in those days, too. And folks want their god to place a stamp of approval on whatever they are doing. Stuff like: What used to be called “living in sin” has now become “a meaningful relationship.” What used to be called & “self-indulgence” is now “self-fulfillment.” What used to be called “chastity” is now called “a neurotic inhibition.” And what used to be called “killing the unborn” is now called “the right to choose.” But Jesus encountered a similar attitude in His day, too! He looked at the Pharisees & Sadducees & called them “hypocrites” & “white-washed tombs.” On the outside they appeared to be pious & prayerful & obedient to God. But inside they were foul, rotten, and dead to God.

But if God loves me then He’s okay with the way I am. NO, He loves you, but He can’t tolerate sin. Jesus died at the cross for our sin. Give your life to Him and let Him be in charge. It requires change and it can only be answered with Jesus! Give your life to Him, today!

Choose Jesus, choose life! And find a Bible believin’ church where you “fit in” and know, grow, and follow Christ! Tell others! See y’all at church and keep PRAYIN’ for HIS HARVEST! And y’all KEEP PRAYIN’ for RAIN! Amen
