WALTERS – In response to the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Cotton Electric Cooperative has closed the Walters and Duncan office lobbies to walk in members and suspended all in-person appointments for home evaluations and engineering.

The utility will continue to accept payments through the drive-up windows at both locations and the kiosk at the Duncan office. Payments and account management can still be done online and payments can also be made by phone. Member service representatives and other employees are still available by calling 580-875-3351 or 800-522-3520.

“We are taking this temporary action in an abundance of caution,” said CEO Jennifer Meason. “We have communicated with local leaders and public health officials, and we are committed to doing what we can to protect our employees and the community.”

“This action only impacts walk-in traffic and in-person appointments,” Meason emphasized. “Our operations personnel will continue to do their important work to keep the power system operating reliably. We do not anticipate any power interruptions in our communities as a result of COVID-19.”

Cotton Electric Cooperative, along with health officials, reminds you that there are simple but effective steps you can take to protect you and your family, including washing hands, limiting contact through social distancing and staying home when feeling sick.

“We will continue to evaluate the situation and provide updates in the coming days,” Meason said. “Check our website at www.CottonElectric.com or our social media accounts for the latest information. You can also contact our office by phone at 580-875-3351 or 800-522-3520.”
