March 2024 Cotton County Art Council Meeting

The Cotton County Art Council held their monthly meeting Monday, March 11th, 2024 at the Walters Creative Center aka the Walters Depot. Lavonne High served delicious refreshments on a St. Patrick's Day decorated table done by Pattie Calfy. During the business meeting, Sharon Wiley informed the group that she had verified that the Expo Center was reserved for the Art Show which will be May 4th and that the 4-H Club members would be having the concession stand. Members discussed what to use for the 'Goody Bags' which will be given to participants of the Art Show. Details about the Children's Art Competition were presented by Celia Hawk and Robert Wright. After the business session, members were guided by Traci Pennington in how to paint texture onto glass jars to make them look like pottery. Thank you goes to the Oklahoma Arts Council for their support with our Art Show. Other members present were Lynne Adene Thompson, Priscilla Pennington, Anne Frable, Gerri Jones, Jennifer Carroll, and Linda Moore. Jeannie Smith was welcomed as a special guest. The next meeting will be Monday, April 8th at 6:00 pm at the Creative Center.
