Cotton County Art Council is pleased to announce the judges for their annual Arts and Crafts Show which will be held Saturday, May 4th at the Walters Expo center west of town. Judging the Fine Arts Division will be Professor Andy Myers. Andy is proficient in many mediums, but his true passion and medium of expertise is sculpture. He received a BFA in sculpture from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, where he refined his craft as a sculptor, learning the fundamentals of clay, wood, stone, and metal. He received a MA and a MFA at the University of Dallas where he narrowed his focus to sculpting with found wood. By manipulating the natural state of trees and their branches, he challenges us to see something new and draws attention to the connection between trees and humankind. Andy is currently a professor of art at USAO, where he teaches sculpture, drawing, design, photography and jewelry creation.

Judging the Crafts Division will be Linda Miller who has been a resident of Walters for 28 years. Linda has always been interested in and active with crafts. Over the years, Linda's crafting has included ceramics, tole painting, pen & ink, embroidery, crochet, flower arrangement, sewing and anything else her eight children were interested in doing. In 1998 Linda opened a ceramic shop and crafts mall in Walters as a venue for children and adults to become involved in ceramics and for local crafters to sell their creations. Linda has remained active in crafting even though at 58 years young she decided to go back to college. In 2018 she completed a BS in business administration and in 2021 completed a Master's Degree in Education. She has been teaching 6th grade Science and 9th grade Physical Science at Walters Public Schools since 2013 The Art Council appreciates the wonderful support they receive from our community and the Oklahoma Arts Council. Be sure to come and see some beautiful Art and creative Crafts at the Show on May 4th.
