Rodna Cherry, 63, of Duncan, Oklahoma passed from this life Friday, October 30, 2020 at her home in Duncan.

There will be no viewing at the funeral home, however, a register will be available beginning Tuesday.

A private family memorial service will be held Saturday and the service will live streamed on the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Facebook Page.

Rodna was born October 15, 1957 in El Dorado, Kansas the daughter of Rodney Newlin and Janie MarJean (Kimberlin) Cherry. She graduated from the Walters High School in Walters, Oklahoma in 1975. She attended LaJeans Beauty School. She owned and operated the Last Chance Beauty Salon in Duncan until an illness forced her retirement earlier this year. She was an all region basketball player and star softball pitcher through her high school years. She was active in rodeos and rodeo concession and as a makeup artist with the Duncan Little Theater for over 30 years. One of her greatest joys was taking care of her fur babies. She took in strays from all over, nursing them back to health, re-homing some but keeping most. She was a proud citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and was preceded in death by her parents and numerous fur babies.

Survivors include her brothers Fred McCarter of Port Orchard, Washington, Ray Gene McCarter of Marlow, Oklahoma and Johnny Thompson of South Carolina; sisters Marylyn Cherry Red Elk, Carla Marie Chery and Rebecca "Boo" Cherry-Ledford all of Walters. Daughter Tiffany Nicole Jackson; Special freinds Jan and Mike Fiorillo, Anette and Brent Bullard and Kelly and Mike Sellers as well as numerous Nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Stephens County Humane Society.
