Funeral Services for Mary Allen, 71, Walters, OK will be at New Salem Baptist Church, Walters, Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Ron Bartoli officiating with burial in the Elm Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Mary Lee (Newby) Allen was born to Robert Lee and Zella Loretta (Shelton) Newby on June 12, 1948 in Greeley, Colorado and departed this life in Walters, OK on October 27, 2019 at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 25 days.

Mary grew up in Colorado, South Dakota, Oklahoma and Nebraska as the family moved where the work was. She settled in Kingston from 1970 to 1992 but for a short time in Atoka. She lived in Walters from 1992 to 2006 when moving to Wilson. She returned to Walters in 2013. Through the years she worked as a CMA at Kingston Nursing Home, cooked for Walters Public Schools, catered for Ronnie and Jackie Calkins, worked at Black Gold Casino in Wilson and lastly worked as a receptionist for Gentiva Health Services.

Mary enjoyed crafting, garage sales, spending time with family and most of all loved to study her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her mother Zella, her father Robert, her son Jimmy Robert Allen, and her brother Bobby Newby.

Survivors include her brother Paul Newby and wife Debbie of Walters; her kids and their spouses, David and Tina Newby of Wilson, OK, Jessie and Beverly Allen of Kingston, OK, Joe and Penny Allen of Walters; like daughters, Dana Gilliam and Scott of Walters, Lisa Cassens and Marc of Moore, OK; a sister-in-law, Anita Newby of Moore; her grandchildren, Logan and Maddison, Stanley and Kendell, Jacob and Macy, Jimmy Joe, Dakota, Joette, Jessica, Ashlyn, Treassie, Zoey, Aaron and Keason, Nathan, Rowdy, Shawna, Matthew, Ethan, Justin; and many beloved great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
