She began her life on December 16, 1927 as the oldest of 2 girls, born to Paul Royal and Elsie Vera Fulfs on a farm west of Randlett, OK. Janice attended and graduated from Randlett Public School in 1946. She was valedictorian of her 8th grade class and salutatorian of her graduating class. Upon graduation, she went to work for Civil Service at Sheppard Air Force Base. She married the love of her life, Jesse A. Goode on New Year’s Eve 1946 and to this union, 2 children were born.

She served on the Fairview Cemetery Board for 31 years, as a precinct official for the Cotton County Election Board for 35 years, and as a volunteer for United Regional Hospital for 25 years. Serving the Lord through her church also brought her great joy. Through the years, she taught Sunday School, worked in Vacation Bible School, played the organ, and served on various committees.

She loved life and loved her family deeply. Nothing made her happier than being with the ones she loved. She was full of grace and humility and her life was a Godly testimony of faith, hard work, commitment, perseverance, service, and love. She was beautiful, strong in her faith, and fiercely independent. To the end, she stayed actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
