Clemmie Howard Abbe was born to Clemmie and Faye (Strickland) Abbe on January 14, 1940 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Paris, TX on November 14, 2020 at the age of 80 years and 10 months.

Howard grew up southwest of Walters, attending Temple Schools until transferring to Walters for his junior and senior years. He married Edwina Reece on December 21, 1957 in Walters and to the union 2 daughters were born. They made their home in the Walters area where he was employed by Cotton Electric and Lavin Equipment. In 1967 Howard got into the custom harvesting business and eventually moved his family to Dalhart, TX in 1973. He operated Abbe’s Custom Havesting for 30 plus years, retiring in the late 1990’s.

Howard enjoyed shooting skeet, hunting with his bird dogs and snow skiing. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Dalhart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clemmie and Faye Abbe; his wife, Edwina Abbe in 1995; and 2 sisters, Margaret Hilton and Wilda Abbe.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Debbie and Geno Abbe of Panhandle, TX, Donna and Jerry Simmons of Paris, TX; 3 sisters, Mary Adams of Burkburnett, TX, Carla Phillips and husband Jerry of Walters, and Ella Chambers of Puyallup, WA; a brother-in-law, Eddie Reece and wife Glenda; a sister-in-law, Cellie Hickey and husband Charles; 5 grandchildren, Jarrett and Tiffany Howell of Dumas, TX, Jeffrey and Janet Simmons of Cypress, TX, Abbey Simmons of Paris, Nathan and Lindsay Abbe of Granbury, TX, Kollin Abbe and fiancé Kaylyn of Lubbock, TX; 6 great grandchildren, Tristan, Quinten, Abigail, Natalie, Jesse, Jax and one on the way, Lane; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
