Harold Zachary

Harold J. Zachary was born November 14, 1928 in Cookietown, OK to Joe Dallas and Beulah Alice (Neeley) Zachary and departed this life in Temple, OK on December 22, 2019 at the age of 91 years, 1 month and 8 days.

He grew up attending Union Valley School through the 6th grade. The family then moved to Temple upon purchase of a quarter-section of land on the south side of Temple Lake. He graduated from Temple High School in 1946. Harold married Frances Estelle Waller on November 22, 1947 in Wichita Falls, TX and they made their home south of Temple. Harold farmed and ranched over 70 years on the family farm where he produced wheat and raised Hereford cattle.

Survivors include a son, Cecil Zachary and wife, Deb, of Waurika, OK; a daughter, Louise and her husband, Cliff Groom, of Skiatook, OK; a sister-in-law, Mildred Gaugau, of Chelsea, OK; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances in 2016; 6 brothers, Allen, Fred, Lewis, Leslie, Howard and Homer; and 4 sisters, Roxie, Thelma, Gladys and Ruby.

Graveside Services at the Temple Cemetery, Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., Dana McIlhaney officiating under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.
