Funeral service for Gary Pflug, 63, Walters, OK will be held at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., Pastor David McGhghy officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Gary Pflug Funeral Fund at Arvest Bank.

Gary Torrence Pflug, Sr. was born to Merle Torrence and Betty Joyce (Prince) Pflug on October 21, 1956 in Springfield, IL and departed this life in Lawton, OK on March 13, 2020 at the age of 63 years, 4 months and 21 days.

Gary grew up in Springfield, IL and soon began a 40-year career as an electrician with IBEW in Springfield. Through the years he traveled to jobsites across the country as he did electrical work at nuclear plants and military bases for IBEW. In Illinois, he met Sheila F. (Depew) Crocker. They eventually made their way to Medicine Park, OK, and back to Illinois before returning to Oklahoma making their home in Walters. The couple had married in Lawton, OK on April 1, 2011.

Gary’s church affiliation was Baptist. He loved his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed his guns and fishing, having much success in numerous bass tournaments. Gary enjoyed tinkering with his tools and enjoyed time on the farm with Stan and the cows. He was a Mason in Springfield’s Lodge #333.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila, of the home; a son, Gary Pflug, Jr. of Springfield, IL; 3 daughters, Melissa Loften of Greensburg, IN, Rosemary Bailey of Lawton, OK, and Roxy Crocker of Walters, OK; 2 brothers, William “Bill” Pflug of Divernon, IL and Herman Pflug of Pass Christian, MS; 2 sisters, Jeanette Ushman and Juanita Bruns both of Springfield; his dog baby, Tinker Bell; 8 grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
