Funeral Services for Charles “Bub” Bryant, 96, Walters, OK were held at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Brantley Tillery officiating. Interment in the Walters Cemetery with Military Honors.

Charles Lloyd “Bub” Bryant was born to Charles Culberson and Olive Gertrude (Vineyard) Bryant on October 20, 1923 at Walters, OK and departed this life in Mustang, OK on January 14, 2020 at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 25 days.

Bub grew up on a farm west of Walters in the Emerson Community. He attended the

rural schools of Emerson, Pecan Grove, Union Valley and Ahpeatone, leaving after the 10th grade to join the U.S. Army, serving his country honorably during WWII. He was a Purple Heart recipient!

He married Kathryn Louise Morris on January 31, 1946 at Walters where they made their home. Bub worked as an electrician for Civil Service at Fort Sill from 1951 to 1974. The couple moved to a farm at the Waurika Lake where he raised a few cows and Kathryn raised parakeets. She preceded him in death in 1996 and he moved to town in 2000 until his final move in 2013 to Arbor House in Mustang, OK.

Bub enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Walters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathryn; an infant daughter, Donna Kay Bryant; a grandson, Gerald Shelton; and was the last of 10 Bryant children to pass away as he was preceded by 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Pat and David Balding of Yukon, Linda and Larry Shelton of Mustang; a son, Ernest Bryant and Jana of Ardmore; 5 grandchildren, Brad Balding, Bryan Balding, Bobby Shelton, Jennifer Dowell and Courtney Bryant; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
