The Walters Volunteer Fire Department and Walters Emergency Management Director, Karla Eschiti teamed up with the American Red Cross for the Sound the Alarm, Save A Life on Saturday December 21, 2019.

Several Volunteers showed up to install free smoke alarms and provide fire prevention and safety education to area residents in the vicinity of a recent structure fire. We were able to install smoke alarms in 11 homes.

A smoke alarm is the most important safety feature of your home. Properly installed, working smoke alarms provide the early warning you need to safely escape from a fire.

Throughout the year Walters Emergency Management will provide resources for continued education and awareness on manmade and natural disasters that may affect our community.
