This past week Walters Blue Devil football concluded eight weeks of Summer Pride workouts. Attendance in both high school and middle school sessions was the highest it has been in several years with over 2/3 of participants achieving at least 90% of the time. Each athlete made personal record gains over the summer. Head Coach Chuck Terry and the team want to invite the community to celebrate with them and kickoff the 2020 football season at the first ever Blue Devil Football Night of Champions this Sunday evening, August 9 beginning at 8:00 pm at Elmer Graham Stadium. Each athlete will be attempting personal record lifts and Summer Pride awards will be given. Blue Devil discount cards are on sale now for $20 each from any football player or at the school administration office. Vintage retired WHS football jerseys are also on sale now for $25 each or $20 each for 2 or more. Both will be available for purchase at the Night of Champions event. The 2020 Blue Devil Football season officially kicks off with Midnight Madness practice at 12:01am On Monday, August 10. Our team will be among the first teams in Oklahoma to begin the first day of practice allowed by the OSSAA. Come out and get a glimpse of this year’s Blue Devils and show support for the hard work put in this summer.
