Walters Chamber of Commerce welcomed Cotton Blooms Florist, LLC on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.
Ever since Stesha was in high school she had dreamed of owning a flower shop. She can remember her senior year when people asked what she wanted to do after graduation, Stesha told them, “go to college and eventually open a flower shop”. For the longest time she didn’t think this would ever become an accomplishment of that dream, but Stesha never gave up on it.
No matter where she was working, Stesha couldn’t get ‘owning a flower shop’ out of my head - it’s all she could think about. When her grandpa passed away last December, they had to go to Lawton to buy flowers. That’s when she knew it was time to start getting the wheels turning on opening a flower shop and filling a need in Walters. In the spring, Stesha approached Donna Chemah about renting a space in her historic building on the corner of Broadway and Kansas St.
Looking back, it was kind of far fetched, as she had never stepped foot in her building before. Stesha didn’t know if Donna even had room for her. Sure enough, Donna said she just renovated the back of her building. She was renting the space out for small parties and get-togethers, she thought it would work perfect for a florist. Stesha jumped on the opportunity and got to working on setting up and starting Cotton Bloom Florist LLC. Stesha quit her full time job in Lawton mid July and officially opened for business July 29th. She hit the ground running and have never looked back.
This community, her family and friends have been so supportive and such a blessing to her.
