Jack Foster former NASCAR Driver had some items he dearly enjoyed; they are on display at the Walters Public Library. His wife, Millie wanted others to enjoy seeing his things. These items are some of his favorite things but not all are about him. Some are about other NASCAR drivers that were important to him.

On May 4, 1977, Jack began the evening running a quarter-mile race on the speedway oval driving a 1965 Pontiac in a Street Stock Race with the mark of 17:20 beating the old mark of 17:29 made by Darrell Fox in 1976. Jack’s new mark stood strong until June when his team mate Dan Everett propelled his 1964 Buick around the speedway oval in 17:16 time. Jack Foster, Gary Stockman and Dan Everett were then known as the ‘Fontana Drivers’ and this race took place in San Bernardino, CA. Jack was a man who had to be doing something and NASCAR was a dream come true.

Jack owned two (2) cars numbered 622 and 623. He himself drove 622 and his son, Steve drove 623. In one (1) race Jack was in first (1st) place and Steve was in second (2nd). Since Jack had already won a few races, he moved over and Steve won the race. He wanted his son to win so they could both have the opportunity to enjoy “The Win.” “That’s the way I see it,” Gina Suson added. Jack won several trophies and titles throughout his three (3) year driving time.

Jack retired from NASCAR in 1979, in Fontana, CA then later moved to Oklahoma. Jack married Millie in November, 2013. Jack retired from Doors Plus and opened J & M Firearms, which is now Closed since 2018, upon Jack’s severe medical problems and then untimely death on July 16, 2019. He won that race, too; the great race of life.
